BLUE STORY has adopted a strict privacy policy because it takes the privacy of its customers very seriously and treats this personal information with care.
It undertakes to process this data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation. This regulation sets out guidelines for the data that BLUE STORY may collect and the way in which it may process it.
Categories of data collected
BLUE STORY collects a certain amount of personal data about you, from you or your entourage, including, where applicable, data relating to your health.
Purposes and legal basis of processing
This data is essential to BLUE STORY to:
- Provide you with the most appropriate assistance;
- Determine the financial consideration you will be asked to pay;
- Ensure the smooth organisation of the services provided;
BLUE STORY processes your Data only to the extent necessary for the purposes for which it has been obtained.
The legal basis for processing is your consent.
Data retention period
BLUE STORY does not retain personal data longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it was provided or required by law.
Personal data relating to invoices and accounting (e-mail exchanges, correspondence, invoices, etc.) is kept for 10 years. Personal data obtained in the context of an unsuccessful commercial relationship (exchange of e-mails, correspondence, etc.) may also be kept for 10 years.
Data recipients
Your Data will not be disclosed to third parties except to apply a legal or regulatory provision or for the purposes of normal business management.
The purposes of normal business management include the fact that your data may be disclosed as part of the performance of our services. BLUE STORY may outsource, in whole or in part, some of its assignments to technical subcontractors (data processors) who are bound to it by contract, in particular to operate its website.
BLUE STORY also requires its data processors to comply with data protection legislation and to provide sufficient guarantees regarding the implementation of appropriate technical and organisational measures, so that processing meets the requirements of data protection legislation and guarantees the protection of your rights.
As a matter of principle, BLUE STORY does not sell or disclose to third parties, in any way whatsoever, the data that BLUE STORY collects about you.
Technical and organisational measures
BLUE STORY has developed appropriate technical and organisational security rules to prevent the destruction, loss, falsification, modification, unauthorised access, accidental disclosure to third parties and any other unauthorised processing of data.
BLUE STORY endeavours to protect personal data as much as possible by applying technical and organisational measures, including but not limited to the following:
- BLUE STORY uses a username and password policy on all its systems.
- Personal data is backed up in order to recover from physical or technical incidents.
- The employees, trainees and temporary workers that BLUE STORY employs have been informed of the importance of protecting personal data and are required to preserve the confidentiality of third parties’ personal data.
Your rights
Right of access
You have the right to obtain confirmation from BLUE STORY as to whether or not your data is being processed and, if it is, access to the said data, by contacting BLUE STORY by e-mail at nathalie@bluestory.be or by post at the head office address:

Right to rectification and to be forgotten

Right to portability
Where necessary, you also have the right to the portability of your Data under the conditions set out in the applicable data protection legislation.
Right to object
You also have the right to object to any use of your data for prospecting purposes and may exercise your right to object at any time, free of charge and without having to provide any justification, by sending an e-mail to this end to the following address: nathalie@bluestory.be
Right to restrict processing
You also have the right to obtain from BLUE STORY the limitation of the processing of your Data, in accordance with the applicable data protection legislation.
Right to complain
Finally, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Commission de la Protection de la Vie Privée (Belgian Data Protection Authority), an independent supervisory body which ensures that personal data is used and secured with care, and that future privacy is also guaranteed in accordance with the data protection rules.
Special categories of data: health-related data
Under the European Data Protection Regulation, data relating to your health may only be collected and processed with your express written consent. Your consent is also required for BLUE STORY to be able, when necessary, to share this data with other parties such as a doctor within the framework of shared professional secrecy.
Applicable law and jurisdiction
These provisions shall be governed by, and interpreted and enforced in accordance with Belgian law, which shall be the sole applicable law in the event of any dispute.
Any dispute which cannot be settled amicably within a period not exceeding one month from the date of its occurrence, which period may be extended by mutual agreement, may be brought by the first party to act before the French-speaking Courts and Tribunals of the judicial district of Brussels, which shall have sole jurisdiction.
Date of entry into force
This policy was created and came into force on 25 May 2018. BLUE STORY reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to change, modify, add or remove parts of this policy at any time.
